Two Decades at the Frontier of IP Law
For more than two decades, I have practised intellectual property law with a focus on procurement, licensing, validity, infringement analysis, and right-to-use opinions. My work spans patents, trademarks, and trade secrets across a broad range of technology sectors. I have drafted and negotiated complex commercial agreements — distribution, confidentiality, supply, technology licensing, joint venture, and employment — and have provided strategic counsel on risk management, privacy, and corporate governance. I have also supported and managed litigation, and served as general counsel to a technology company, giving me a deep appreciation for the operational realities that clients face.
Building Communities Around Innovation
I have served on the boards of numerous small and medium enterprises and not-for-profit institutions. I helped establish a regional innovation centre and have contributed to advisory councils supporting university-based research and commercialization. I founded and continue to lead a not-for-profit dedicated to building a marketplace for early-stage technologies, including developing and maintaining an automated patent intelligence service.
